Biography Ammosov Nikolai
(1787 - 1868). He was brought up in the second cadet corps, and in 1805 came an officer in the 10 th Artillery Regiment, participated in the Turkish campaign in 1808 and in the campaign of 1812 - 1815. A. known for the invention (1835) air furnaces, warm air current, a device which in the Winter Palace was 2 thousand acres of land. He issued (1840 - 44), two brochures on inventions of furnaces, "Description of device lightning rods" (St. Petersburg, 1850) and two translations: Condillac, "On the benefits of free trade" (St. Petersburg, 1817), and "Fenelonovy favorite creation" ( SPb., 1820).
