Biography Belopol'skii Aristarchus Apollonovich
Born in 1854, was educated in the 2-nd Moscow gymnasium and at Moscow University. From 1878 to 1888. a supernumerary assistant in the astronomical observatory of the Moscow University. In 1886. thesis master's degree in astronomy ( "sunspots and their motion"), and in 1895. - The degree of Doctor of Astronomy ( "On the spectrum of variable Delta Cephei"). In 1888. appointed assistant professor at the observatory at Pulkovo, in 1891, Mr.. - Astrophysicist, in 1908, Mr.. - Vice-Director. In 1900, Mr.. elected an Associate of the Imperial Academy of Sciences, in 1903. - In the extraordinary, in 1906. - In the ordinary academics. Highlights of Belopolsky relate to the study of spectra of stars and the sun. With the spectrograph, prilazhennogo to Pulkovo 30-inch refractor, was Belopol'skii catalog of spectra of bright stars. Special detailed studies relate to the stars Etta Aquilae, Delta Cephei, Ro Cygni, Alpha and Zeta Geminorum (Belopol'skii opened spectral duality latest stars). He organized and participated in several expeditions to observe solar eclipses, and explored the range of rotation of Jupiter and the withdrawal of stellar parallax from observations of transit instrument. All memoirs Belopolsky (up to 10 per year) published in "Annals of the Observatory of Moscow", "Proceedings of the Academy of Sciences", "Proceedings of the Pulkovo Observatory and the various foreign professional journals.
