comes from the Swedish names Weldman; was born in St. Petersburg, July 8, 1800, Mr.. His father had served in the Grenadier Guards Regiment. In 1811 - 1812 he. Veltman joined the Moscow university boarding school, but his studies were interrupted by the invasion of the French. Finally, . mass of stories in verse and prose,
. In all these works Veltman found an original and brilliant, . but shallow talent: with remarkable brightness fantasy, . motley statement, . nelishennoy sometimes true poetry, . He completely lacked serious content, . hence, . that he was forgotten immediately after death,
. The complexity of accidents and which is hence the need for a wonderful denouement deprive works Veltman naturalness. The favorite form of his work was kaleidoscopic mixture of prose and verse, in which he reached the virtuosity. In fiction, Veltman left several historical studies. In 1842, Mr.. he became assistant director of the Moscow Armory, and in 1845. was appointed to the committee for the publication of "Antiquities Rossiyskogo state," which went under his editorship, and in which the text of 2, 3 and 5 separately owned by him. In 1852, Mr.. Veltman was appointed director of the Armory. In the historical writings of his: "O Lord Novgorod the Great" (Moscow, 1834), "Ancient Slavic proper names" (Moscow, 1840), "Sights of Moscow Kremlin (Moscow, 1844)," Studies on Svevo, Huns and Mongols "(Moscow, 1856 - 60) and others. Veltman was guided by the same fantasy, as in fiction, why they are devoid of all values. Died Jan. 11, 1860, Mr.. Moscow. M. M.
