Biography Golitsyn Yuri
(1823 - 1872). His father was a great virtuoso on the cello and a friend of Beethoven, who dedicated to him some of his quartets. Golitsyn was a passion for music from an early age, and especially fond of vocal music. In 1842, he became known in Moscow, his choir, which consisted of 70 serfs his Tambov estate. This chorus Golitsyn conducted himself and brought the performance to a remarkable degree of perfection. After the liberation of the peasants Golitsyn was choruses from fans and gave a very successful concerts in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Paris, London and other cities. In 1868 he performed with the same success in America, performing with his chorus of Russian folk songs. They wrote an interesting "Notes", part printed in "Notes of the Fatherland", and up to sixty musical pieces, among which are the two orchestral fantasy. M. AP
