Biography GUSHALEVICH Ivan
The son of a peasant, was born in Galicia in 1823, studied at the Lvov University. He began writing poetry in the middle 40-ies and in 1848. published a collection of his poems, then wrote in "Zore Galician" (1848) in 1849 published the newspaper "Novine, then the magazine Pchola". After taking a teacher of Russian language school in Lviv, Gushalevich published "The Lay of Igor". In 1850 - 1853 edited the "retreat Galicia". In 1855, Mr.. gained a place in the village priest Yanovtse; in the 60's he was a Sejm deputy and member of the Reichstag. In 1861, Mr.. published his poems (16 songs and 31 of the fable). Poems Gushalevicha weak. Gushalevich wrote 3 of the drama, of which gained fame "Podgoryane". By Language Gushalevich more inclined to literary Russian than the Little Russian, particularly in his works, 70 and 80-ies. N. Sumtsov.
