Biography Dashkov Pavel Yakovlevich
(1849 - 1910). Initial education received in Sweden, completed the course in the Alexander Lyceum, and only nominally in the public service, devoted himself to the collection of historical documents, engravings, manuscripts. Knowing and loving the story, with its fine historical sense Dashkov, himself a writer, a lot of help with advice not only to novice workers, but even the experts. With the passage of time have Dashkova in his ancestral village and in the old (St Petersburg) house formed a huge collection, far from being fully used, not even published an inventory. Widely depending on their task, Dashkov acquired the family archives, private letters, photographs, official documents. Collection Dashkova enjoyed no less popular than our public libraries and archives, and was more accessible than many of them. The death of Dashkova assembled a collection of preserved whole, the question of its further fate and about how public use has not been elucidated completely.
