In St. Petersburg he was in St. Petersburg Vedomosti (Korsch) provincial office and wrote in other publications. The main theme of his journalism was zemstvo. He constantly monitored the Zemsky business throughout Russia and devoted his monthly chronicle of "Notes of the Fatherland", called "Our public affairs". It also placed a lot of his other articles (under the couch or Demert): "On our zemstvo schools", "Zemstvo and the clergy," "The new will," "On the blame on others" and other. Demert was a great original, but nevertheless a man of high integrity. Fondness for the guilt drove him to the grave. - Wed. NS. Kurochkin, N.A. Demert "(obituary, Fatherland Notes, 1876, N 12); P.A.
