Biography Donaurov Sergey
(1839 - 1897), one of the last representatives of our musical amateurism. He studied at the Page Corps, served in various Russian Embassy and later was a censor and a board member of the General Directorate of Press. His works Donaurov himself did not attach much importance to, yet they were very common among lowbrow fans singing and readily printed by publishers. By its very texture of the songs Donaurova are quite amateurish nature, bribing a large audience, cheap "melody". Especially popular were: "Quiet on the road," "Parting," "Only a little will get dark". Donaurovym written as two operettas: "Christopher Columbus" and "Journey to the Moon", scores of which are lost in the Directorate Imper. Theaters
