Biography Duvernoit Nicholas L.
(1836 - 1906). Born in Moscow. He graduated from the course at the Faculty of Moscow University. Especially great was the influence on Duvernoit Nikita Ivanovich Krylov, aroused his interest in Roman Law. Abroad Duvernoit worked under the guidance Vangerova. After defending his master's thesis "Sources of law and the court in Ancient Russia (Moscow, . 1869) - a brilliant work, . shed light on many aspects of the history of our law and is thus far the main work on this issue, . - Duvernoit accepted an invitation to the legal Demidov Lyceum and again went abroad, . where he listened to Ieringa, . . With Ieringom Duvernoit have established a fairly close relationship, did not prevent him, however, quite independently relate to the scientific direction of the famous novelist. Doctorate Duvernoit "The main form correal obligations" (Yaroslavl, 1874) issued and brilliance of exposition, and the ability to construct a legal relationship. Duvernoit not locked into the narrow confines of the doctrine of correal commitments; most of his book focuses on the importance of Roman law. Most teaching on correal obligations is largely for Duvernoit only a means to demonstrate how to design institutions bequeathed to us by the Roman law. Turning to the Novorossiysk University in Odessa Duvernoit remained until 1881, when he was invited to the chair of civil law in St. Petersburg. Duvernoit was primarily a brilliant teacher. Whole main scientific activity was closely related to the activities of teaching. That is why the extensive course of history and dogma of the Roman law, developed in a seven-year teaching this right at the Odessa University, remained unpublished after the transition Duvernoit to the department of civil law. Issued only in part, to his lectures on civil law ( "Reading of the Civil Law", Issue I - III, 4 edition, 1902 - 1905, and the allowance for lectures on civil law, issues I - II, 1899 - 1901).
