Born in 1863. In 1883 he joined the Fourth Expedition NM. Przewalski, then finished his military education in St. Petersburg and again left with Przheval'skiy in 1888. The death of Przewalski's expedition was finished in 1891 under the leadership M.V. Pevtsov, northern Tibet, East Turkistan and Dzungaria investigated it is not only geographically but also in regard to natural history. In 1893 - 1895 he. Kozlov took part in the expedition VI. Roborovsky in the Nan-Shan and north-eastern Tibet. In a way Roborovskiy ill, and the expedition returned under the command of Kozlov, its results are described Kozlov in his book: "The report of the Assistant Chief of the expedition" (1899). In 1899 - 1901 years Kozlov led the expedition to Tibet, and studied the upper reaches of the Yellow, Yangtze and Mekong-chiang, the expedition had to overcome the natural difficulties, and not just to withstand the resistance of the natives. This expedition is described Kozlov in his work: "Mongolia and Kam (1905 - 1906). In 1907 - 1909 he. Kozlov made a fifth trip to Central Asia: We investigated the central and southern part of Mongolia, the region Kuku-nor and the north-western part of Sichuan. In addition to the wealth of material on the nature of the country, the expedition has collected extensive ethnographic collections, especially in the Buddhist culture and Chinese antiquity. In the center of Mongolia, in the lower reaches of the river Etszin-goal, Kozlov opened the remains buried in the sand city of Hara-Hoto, made them dig yielded a wealth of material (in the form of manuscripts, artifacts, utensils, money and tons. n.), received by the museums of the Emperor Alexander III and the Academy of Sciences.
