Kolmachevsky Leonard Zenonovich

(1850 - 1889). He graduated from the course at the University of Kazan to the Faculty of Philology. He was a lecturer of German language at the same university. For his account of his work abroad (printed in Kazan of University Izvestia) showed in him a serious and cautious scholar (the most important of them: "Notes on Gilfaginninge", Kazan, 1881). His book "Animal epic in the West and among the Slavs" (Kazan, 1882) - a major contribution to science on the severity of the method, the wealth of material and careful finish. Consisted professor of the history of Western European Literature in Kazan, then in Kharkov.
