Leontovich Vladimir

Born in 1866. He graduated from the Faculty of Moscow University. On literary career was made in early 1890 under a pseudonym in. Levenko. Attracted the attention of the story "Lady and Lyuda" (Lviv, 1893) and live images from the life of the clergy in the Ukraine under the title "Per pedes apostolorum" (Lviv, 1896). Leontovich not so much an artist as an intelligent observer. Characteristic features of the life he knows how to clothe in the true images. What he captures in them is always interesting, sometimes significantly on social or psychological content. Narrow bias, he is utterly foreign, paintings of everyday life he's always bright, especially in the best of recent works, such as in the stories "Zapovit and the death of Ivan Grechka Pan," "I have zarobiv ICDO God" in the book "Stare th Nove" (Kiev, 1914 ). The dominant motif of this collection is the destruction of the old way of life, displacement of obsolete forms new relationships, new trends sentiment. In recent years, Leontovich was a member of editorial board of the Kiev Ukrainian magazine "Literary п?п°я?п?пЎп?п?п№ Bulletin" on the pages of which were posted his best works
