(Argoli) (15.03.1570 (1568?) Talyakotstso, region. Abruzzi, Kingdom of Naples - 27/09/1657, Padua)
Father, a widely known poet Giovanni Argoli (1.07.1609, Talyakotstso - 1660), who also studied astrology and mathematics. From 1622 to 1627, Mr.. A. headed the department of mathematics at La Sapienza (Rome). Perhaps he was dismissed from his post because of the lessons astrology. In 1632, Mr.. A. became professor of mathematics at Padua, where he spent the rest of his life. Reached our days inaccurate information that A. studied with Magini and taught the famous general Wallenstein astrology in Padua.
Apparently, the first published composition A. were astrological tables to calculate the directorates "Tabulae Primi Mobilis" (1610). He also made other tables based on the hypothesis of Tycho Brahe ( "Secundorum mobilium ..."; 1634), wrote a dissertation on the comet 1652 - 1653 g. and "Pandosion sphaericum" (1644). Ephemerides for 1631 - 1700 gg. Compiled a. on the basis of observations of T. Brahe, became the basis of its long-term glory (they were printed in Venice in 1638, then in Padua in 1648, Mr.. and in Lyon in 1659). Among the theoretical studies A. astronomy important book "Astronomicorum" (1629), in which A. presented its original geocentric system of the world. Main astrological work A. - "On critical days ..." ( "De diebus critis ...") in 2 volumes (1639). It covers general issues and the astrological astrological medicine.
