Contemporary Morin de Villefranche. He worked in Paris with the King of France and Cardinal Richelieu (1585 - 1642). Royal cosmography, professor of mathematics at the University of Paris. D. paid a special pension, established for him by Cardinal Richelieu. D. wrote several works on astronomy and astrology, as well as a treatise on geodesy and fortification.
