Information publicist, playwright, philosopher and theorist of aesthetics, who made a contribution to the socialist cultural construction. He studied at the University of Zurich-cho (1895-1896), where he attended lectures and seminars Avenarius. Overseas friends with Marxists PB Axelrod, Plekhanov. Upon his return to Russia (1898) became a professional revolutionary. In exile (1904) joined the Bolshevik faction. In 1917-29 he. - People's Commissar of Education.
