General information (real name - Ioffe) Acad. USSR (1929). Since 1903. Social Democrat, in 1907-17gg. - Menshevik, with 1928. member of the CPSU (b). He graduated from the Philosophical. Dept., Bern University (1908). Director Inst philosophy in 1924-31 he. In 1926-30 otv. red. the first Soviet Philosophy. J.. "Under the banner of Marxism-it". Since 1935. in the Institute of Philosophy Academy of Sciences of the USSR are. D. - Author of the first handbook on the philosophy of Marxism, "Introduction to the philosophy of dialectical materialism-agency" (written in 1907, first edition. - 1916, with foreword. GV. Plekhanov). D. involved in controversy with the ma-Hizma. Chaired a discussion with a group of "mechanists" (headed by a so-called. deborinskoy schools), has essentially completed his victory (1929). Underestimation of the Leninist stage in the development of Marxist philosophy has resulted in 1931. the condemnation of the views Deborin as Menshevist idealism ".
