The representative of the Florentine school. Pupil of Domenico Veneziano and teacher Ghirlandaio. Alessio Baldovinetti born c.. 1425 Florence. In 1454 he worked together with Andrea del Castagno, and in 1460 completed the unfinished frescoes by Domenico Veneziano in the church of Sant 'Egidio in Florence (not preserved). From 1481 to 1495 was occupied mainly the restoration of Roman mosaics in the Baptistery of San Giovanni and the Church of San Miniato al Monte in Florence. His hands also belong Annunciation (c.. 1453, Washington, National Gallery) Annunciation (c.. 1458, Uffizi), Christmas (1460-1461, Florence, Church of Santissima Annunziata), Madonna (Louvre) and Portrait of a Woman (London, National Gallery) (the latter two works are carried out in 1464-1465). Baldovinetti died in Florence in 1499.
