Student Gentile da Fabriano, the master who worked in the style of 'international' Gothic. In 1420-ies, along with his master Jacopo worked in Florence. This was the time of origin in the works of Donatello, Ghiberti, Masaccio, Brunelleschi, and others. New Renaissance. Passion for the visual perception of the problems evident in the figures of the two albums that are stored in the Louvre and the British Museum, the appointment and the dating of which (possibly 1440-1450) remain controversial. They contain a lot of sketches of different scenes - the mythological, biblical and fantasy. Feels interest wizard to archeology, problems and prospects of other ways of organizing images. Most of the pictures, obviously, are complete works, especially since none of the known paintings by the artist directly to them is not connected. Among the drawings first appeared specific subjects, which are typical for the Venetians genre: scenes from the holiday and everyday life of the city. This genre has successfully found its continuation in the work of the sons of Jacopo, Gentile and Giovanni Bellini, as well as a number of other masters in the coming years.
