Biography Jaroslav Hasek (Haek Jaroslav)
(1883-1923)
Born April 30, 1883 in Prague. He wrote for newspapers, often using different aliases, even happened, that waged for the sake of drawing a newspaper debate with himself. During the First World War he served in the Austrian army, but deserted and was the location of Russian troops. After the 1917 revolution in Russia joined the Bolshevik Party and two years to serve the Soviet Commissioner in Siberia. He returned to Prague in 1920, published a novel about Schweik. He died in Lipnits Hasek (Czech Republic) January 3, 1923. His main work is left unfinished. Left in the light of four volumes prepared for publication humorist Karel Vanek.

The main character created by Hasek's masterpiece, Schweik, it seems simpleton. He was called in the Austrian army and sent to fight with the Russian. Either deliberately, or in simple enough, but fails Shveik successfully all tasks entrusted to it. In the end, like his creator, he joins the Russian. A novel about Schweik has influenced the entire world literature. In imitation noteworthy dramatization of the novel by Brecht (staged in 1959, . after the death of the playwright) and a novel Dzh.Hellera Catch-22 (1961), . where the caricature of the war is also accompanied by fantastic inventions and black humor,

In a novel about Schweik, Hasek has published short stories - most often it is satirizing the life of Czech city.
