Biography Droysen Johann Gustav (Droysen Johann Gustav)
Born in Treptow July 6, 1808. He graduated from Berlin University, where he taught in 1835-1840, then became a professor of history at Keele University. Intrigued by the dispute over Schleswig and Holstein, in 1850 published a detailed history of the issue. Droysen left the university with the beginning of the 1848 revolution, was elected to the Frankfurt Parliament and secretary of the constitutional committee. In 1851 became professor of history at the University of Jena, in 1859 - Professor at Berlin University.
