Ivask Yuri Pavlovich

(1907-1986)
Born November 25, 1907 in Moscow, in a family of merchants. After the revolution, the family lived in Estonia. Ivask graduated from the Law Faculty of the University of Tartu. He continued his education at the University of Hamburg. In 1949 he defended his thesis on the work of PA Viazemsky at Harvard University (USA). He taught at Kansas and the University of Washington. Maintained friendly relations with GV Florovsky and GP Fedotov. For many years, was researching the life and work of K. Leontiev.
Died Ivask at Amherst (USA) 13 February 1986.
