Biography CARRERA ANDRADE Hoohe (Carrera Andrade Jorge)
Born September 28, 1903 in Quito. He studied literature in Spain, Barcelona University, and in France, in Aix-en-Provence. In 1927-1928 was general secretary of the Ecuadorian Socialist Party, then in the diplomatic service in Europe, Asia and South America.
In poetry, Carrera Andrade, the man most revolutionary beliefs, guided solely aesthetic criteria. His first collection of poems, unspeakable pond (El estanque inefable), was released in 1922, but wide fame came to him after the publication of Messages from the collection of marine and terrestrial (Boletines de mar y de tierra, 1930) with a preface by Gabriela Mistral. His fame was consolidated with the release of books at work (El tiempo manual, 1935), Catalog of apple (Rol de la manzana, 1935), Biography for birds (Biografa para uso de los pjaros, 1937) and Chas lighted windows (La hora de las ventanas iluminadas, 1937). Name of the first anthology of Carrera Andrade Inventory world (Registro del mundo, 1942) reflects the desire of the poet step by step to accept and glorify the earth's beauty in all its richness. In subsequent years, Carrera Andrade has released several new collections, among them - Here lies the foam (Aqui yace la espuma, 1950), Poetic milestones (Edades poticas, 1958) and book of exile (Libro del exilio, 1968).
