Born probably in Nuremberg. In 1490 became one of the famous masters of Gothic sculpture. Unlike many other German sculptors of the time, which adorned the interiors of large cathedrals woodcarving, he continued the old tradition of work in stone. Initially, they were on the road to the cemetery of St.. John in Nuremberg, and later were transferred to the Deutsch national museum and replaced with copies, except for one fragment, located in the courtyard of the hospital of St.. Spirit. Final relief cycle Entombment is in the chapel at the cemetery of St.. John. Died in Shvabahe Kraft (Germany) in 1508 or 1509.
