Biography Lena Nikolaus (Lenau Nikolaus);
Born August 13, 1802 in Chatade (Hungary). His father died young, and the boy raised his mother and father, parents. Inconsistency nature did not let him finish a university course or in Presburge, neither in Vienna nor in Heidelberg, where he studied law, agronomy, medicine. Receiving the inheritance, he devoted himself to literature, and has won universal recognition as a gifted lyric poet after the publication of collections of poems (Gedichte, 1832). Tired of the Old World, Lena went to America. Returning to Germany in 1833 marked the beginning of his passionate and unhappy attachment to a married woman. In 1844, Lenau crazy. Died Lena Oberdeblinge near Vienna on Aug. 22, 1850.
Lyrics Lenau's best examples of German-language poetry. He was a good violinist, and a love of music echoed in his poetry. Creativity Lenau permeated pensive melancholy. In addition to several volumes of poetry, belong to his pen an epic drama Faust (Faust, 1836) and the poem Savonarola (Savonarola, 1837), as well as a dramatic poem Don Juan (Don Juan, 1844, publ. 1851) and historical poem Albigenses (Die Albigenser, 1842).
