Masolino able to reach the weight and three-dimensional shapes using modeling, outline the spatial depth in the composition, but in essence it remains a master of decorative painting plane.
Masolino, whose real name is - Tommaso di Cristoforo Fini, born in Panicale, near Florence, in 1383 or 1384. He studied painting with Gerardo da Starnina and in 1423 was recorded as an artist in the craft book Florence. However, apparently, most of the orders received from outside of Florence. The earliest work Masolino - Madonna, written in Bremen in 1423. In 1424 Masolino began a cycle of frescoes in the Brancacci Chapel of the church of Santa Maria del Carmine in Florence. In 1427 he was invited to Hungary Florentine condottiere Pippo Spano, who was in exile, and ordered work on the Brancacci Chapel frescoes by his pupil Masaccio. Part of this painting, created Masolino before departure - The Fall, Sermons St.. Petra, Resurrection of Tabitha. Among other noteworthy works by masters of the cycle of frescoes in Empoli in Tuscany (1424) and painting Kolledzhaty in Castiglione OLONNE in Lombardy (between 1425 and 1435). Died Masolino ca. 1447.
