Born in LeцЁn (Spain). Until 1290 he lived in Guadalajara (Castilla), but subsequently became lead a life of wandering. He died in Arevalo in 1305.
Moses de Leon was a prolific author. His greatest creation - the book Zohar (Light), written in Aramaic - reflects the earlier presentation of the mysteries of creation, God's relationship with the world and man's fate.
