Daniel Franцїois Esprit Auber

(1782-1871)
Born January 29, 1782 in Qana. The first public success brought him a comic opera shepherdess - the owner of the castle (La Bergre chtelaine, 1820). Continuing to work for Opera, Ober has worked with E. Scribe, the most famous French playwright and librettist of the time. Together they created a series of comic operas and two works in the genre of 'grand opera'. Among the comic operas can be identified Fra Diavolo (Fra Diavolo, 1830), the Bronze Horse (Le Cheval de bronze, 1835), Black Dominoes (Le Domino noir, 1837) and Crown Diamonds (Les Diamants de la couronne, 1841). Although none of these operas can not be called a masterpiece, they are all marked by the inspiration and the melodic charm, and which brought the works of Auber's universal recognition.
On the stage of Paris 'Opera' Ober made his debut with the opera La Muette de Portici (La Muette de Portici, 1828) and Gustav III (Gustave III, 1833) - the works largely determined the development of the genre of the French 'grand opera' in the 19.
