Biography OCTAVIO PAZ (Paz Octavio)
(p. 1914) Born March 31, 1914 in Mexico City. He has held diplomatic posts in the UN, was ambassador to France, Japan and other countries. He founded and published various magazines, among them well-known monthly magazine 'Vuelta'. Richest essays devoted Paz topics ranging. In his book The Labyrinth of Solitude (El laberinto de la soledad, 1950) Paz explores the contradiction between the Mexican 'mask' (borrowing of foreign cultural models) and the Indian roots of national culture.
