Biography RIB Henry (Raeburn Henry)
(1756-1823) Born March 4, 1756 in Stockbridge, near Edinburgh. His artistic career started as a jeweler, but soon began to study painting with David Martin. In 1778 the edge went to Italy, from this trip he returned to Edinburgh in 1787 is already a mature master. By this time include Portrait McNab, in which the broad, short strokes with the structural clarity of the structure of the human body pass. In 1812, an edge was elected president of the Royal Society of Artists in Edinburgh, and three years later became a member of the Royal Academy of Arts. In 1822 he received a knighthood and was appointed by His Majesty in miniature Scotland. Edge in Stockbridge died July 8, 1823.
