Biography Cyrano de Bergerac Savinja (Cirano de Bergerac Savinien)
Born March 6, 1619 in Paris. His life is only superficially resembles the life of the hero E. Rostand's play Cyrano de Bergerac (1897). Having entered the Paris College of Beauvais, he added to his surname 'de Bergerac' (Gascon family with that name for some time owned the estate of his father). In 20 years, Cyrano, is a member of several duels, entered military service in 1640 and took part in the siege of Arras. Later, he settled in Paris, was engaged in literary work, he studied philosophy. In 1652 poor, sick and lonely poet found a patron in the person of the Duke d'Arpajon. Died in Cyrano Sannua July 28, 1655.
In 1653, Cyrano wrote comedy bamboozled pedant (Le pdant jou), some scenes from which Moliere borrowed tricks for Scapa (Les Fourberies des Scapins, 1671). He penned a tragedy The death of Agrippina (La Mort d'Agrippine, . 1654), . as well as two reports on imaginary journeys: States and Empires of the Moon (Les tats et empires de la lune) and the State and the Empire of the Sun (Les tats et empires du soleil), . written in 1649 and published posthumously in 1662,
. Its genre is science fiction novels, filled with stories about the ingenious technical inventions and speculations on the cosmological theme, comparing them with the works of F. Rabelais. In the work of Cyrano freethinking sentiments were expressed libertine. Seal of talent is awarded his burlesque poetry. After the death of Cyrano de Bergerac had been almost forgotten. Interest in him revived only with Rostand's play.
