Biography ScudöLry Madeleine de (Scudry Madeleine de)
Born in 1607 in Le Havre. In 1629 his brother George moved to Paris, where they both devoted themselves to writing and literary salon-life. Madeleine de ScudöLry owned gallant multivolume novels, the heroes of which readers can easily learn of his famous contemporaries. The most famous of these works - Artamen, or the Great Cyrus (Artamne ou le Grand Cyrus, 1649-1653) and Clelia (Cllie, 1654-1660). In Clelia, among other things, was placed 'Map of the country tenderness' - an allegorical route foul kingdom of love. ScudöLry died in Paris on June 2, 1701.
