Biography Ferdowsi Abulkasim
(ca. 940 - 1020 or 1030)
Born in g.Tus (historical region of Khorasan in eastern Persia), there, and died. Use the various facilities of Mahmud of Ghazni, Sultan of Kabul 998-1030, who patronized the Persian literature.
The masterpiece of Ferdowsi, the result of twenty years of hard work, is his great epic poem Shakhname (letters. The Book of Kings), completed in 1010. Poet Dakiki (mind. app. 977) has already addressed this topic, and a thousand lines, created by him, was included Ferdowsi in his poem, which has no less than 60 000 couplets of mutakarib, 11-12 syllables per line. Plots the Shakhname become myths and legends of history from ancient times to the death of the last Sasanian ruler Yezdegerda III, who was killed by Arabs in 653 after the collapse of his powers.

Ferdowsi also owns a minority in terms of the poem Yusuf and Zuleyka (Zuleykoy Muslim tradition calls the wife of Potiphar, captain of the guard of Pharaoh).
