Biography FRASER Malcolm (Fraser Malcolm)
Narine was born in May 21, 1930. He graduated from the University of Oxford. Belonged to the conservative wing of the Liberal Party of Australia. In 1955 he was elected to the House of Representatives. In 1966-1968 served as Minister of the Army. From 1968 to 1969, Fraser - Minister of Education, 1969-1971 - Minister of Defense. Resigned due to disagreements with Prime Minister liberal Dzh.Gortonom. After the defeat of the coalition Liberal and National parties in the elections in 1972 Fraser became a member of the Shadow. In 1975 he was elected leader of the Liberal Party.
In November 1975 the Governor-General of Australia Sir John Kerr sacked Labor Prime Minister G. Uitlema and invited Fraser to form a new government. At the office of Prime Minister Fraser was trying to reduce inflation, mainly due to reductions in public spending. During the Vietnam War played a consistent supporter of the United States, criticized the policies of Communist China.
In the elections of 1977 and 1980 the coalition Liberal and National parties won an overwhelming majority, but in early 1983 was defeated by the Labor Party, headed by R. Hawke. After the election, Fraser has resigned from his post as leader of the Liberal Party, left the parliament and left entering politics.
