Born in the family of the poet LG Grave. He graduated from Classical High School. Member of World War II, 1914-18. George Chevalier. From 1919 to 1921. served in the Red Army. After the Civil War G. devotes himself biology and teaches at the University of Smolensk. Since 1930. - In the Western Institute of spinning in the village of Nicholas-Pogoreloye. Until June 1941. reading course in the Smolensk Pedagogical Institute and heads the department of zoology in the Western Agricultural Institute. During the Great Patriotic War, Mr.. works in the Chuvash, Yaroslavl agricultural institutes. In 1949, Mr.. back to Smolensk, where resumes work at the Department of Zoology of the teacher's college.
The scientific activity of G. started since 1902, when he was invited as a zoologist to the expedition of the Geographical Society to study the fauna of the river valleys and Chizhi Cheshi in Kanin tundra. In 1913, Mr.. conducted research on the fauna in Lapland and in Iowa islands in the Barents Sea. In 1914, Mr.. participated in the expedition to study the source of the river in Cheshi Shamahovskih Hills. Then investigated the fauna Sozh River and the northern part of the former province of Smolensk, led an expedition to study the conditions and Nelidovskaya Rzhevsky districts, participated in many expeditions to study the resettlement of the river otter, bird migration, etc.. In September 1930. G. approved by the Director of the Central Forest Reserve, where he worked until 1935. As a member of many scientific obschestv.Avtor large number of scientific papers.
