Biography Kolpakcha Vladimir Yakovlevich

Member of the battle of Smolensk 1943. In 1916, Mr.. drafted into the army. Younger sergeant fought on the front. In 1918, Mr.. volunteer for the Red Army. Member of the Civil War. After its completion, was abandoned in frames. Graduated in 1928. Military Academy. M.V. Frunze. He commanded the regiment, was chief of staff of the division, commanded the 8 th Infantry Division. In 1936, Mr.. - Deputy Chief of Staff of the Belarusian Military District. He lived in Smolensk. In 1936 - 1938 he. fought on the side of Republican forces in Spain. On his return in command of 12 th Infantry Corps. Since 1940. - Chief of Staff of the Kharkov Military District. At the beginning of the Great Patriotic War - Chief of Staff of 18 Army, then its commander (October - November 1941), the Chief of the Bryansk Front (December, 1941. - January 1942), commander of the 62 th (July-August 1942), 30 th (November 1942. - April 1943), 63rd (May 1943) and 69 th (since April 1944. until the end of the war) armies. After the war he commanded the troops at Baku, the northern military district. Since 1956. worked in the central apparatus of the USSR Ministry of Defense. Awarded 3 orders of Lenin, Red Banner of 3 orders, 3 orders of Suvrova 1-st degree, orders Kutueova 1-st degree, Order of the Red Star and medals, and foreign orders. Killed while on duty in a plane crash. He was buried in Moscow at the Novodevichy cemetery.
