The main work involves the study of Stone and Iron Ages in the basins of the Western Dvina and Lovat. Studies in the Smolensk region (mainly in the area Velizhskom) conducted in 1968. and from 1972 to 1992. with some interruptions. Surveys and excavations have been more than 20 archaeological sites. Opened and studied: Palaeolithic and epipaleoliticheskie settlements in the Western Dvina River near the village. Hawk and Serteyke River; Mesolithic parking Serteyke on the river, at an early Neolithic village Rudnya; pile Neolithic settlements I and II near the village of Hawk and here - the remains of the oldest in the Smolensk region for producing iron.
