Aelius Aristides, (gram) Ailios Aristeides, 117 (or 129?) - C.. 190 years., Greek speaker, the representative of the second sophistry. AA. is also the author of 7 preserved speeches of the gods: Zeus, Athena, Poseidon, Dionysus, Hercules, Aesculapius, and Serapis. AA. also wrote a letter (not preserved). He attitsistom and took a sample of their predecessors Attic. Language AA. refined, syntax prichudliv, so it represents one of the most difficult to read speakers. Byzantine rhetoricians put it next to Demosfenom and Izokratom sophists IV in. tried to imitate it. Praise be to Athens was a textbook on classical Greek history in the Byzantine school.
