A Fanas Lavrent'evich Bodak, lieutenant colonel, commander of 224 Infantry Red Banner Order of Suvorov Pamir Regiment 162 Infantry Central Asian Novgorod-Seversky Red Banner Division. Born January 17, 1911 in d. Sivceva Glinkovskogo district of Smolensk region in a peasant family. Russian. Graduated from the two courses in industrial-economic college in 1932, the Belarusian Association of Infantry School in 1936 and a crash course in the Military Academy named after M. V. Frunze, in 1941. Before conscription worked foreman and chairman of the kolkhoz. d. Kharin Elninskaya district of Smolensk region. In the Soviet Army he served in 1933-1959, respectively.

From March 1942 to victory over Germany in World War II fought on the North-West, Central, 1 and 2 of the First Byelorussian Front. Participated in the battles in the north-western sector of the front, near Moscow, in the Battle of Kursk, the liberation of Belarus, Poland, defeating the enemy in Germany. Wounded in 1945. For military distinction and impeccable service in the Soviet Army awarded two Orders of Red Banner (1945, . 1954), . Order of Kutuzov 3rd degree (1945), . In the Berlin operation 70 Army, which included fighting, Lieutenant Colonel Bodak, acted on the direction of the main attack 2-nd Russian Front.
