Semenovka Fyodorovsky district of Saratov region in a peasant family. Russian. Graduated from the Saratov Financial and Economic College in 1937. He worked as an instructor of the department of management-accounting Fyodorovsky Area. In the Soviet army from 1938 to 1946. He graduated from the Military-Political Academy in 1941.

Since the beginning of World War II victory over Germany fought on the Western, Central and 1 st Belorussian fronts. In 1942-1943 he served in the guerrilla detachments on the territory of the Orel and Kursk regions. He took part in defensive operations of the first months of the war, the liberation of Belarus, Poland, defeating the enemy in Germany. Seriously injured on Sept. 27, 1941. In 1944 he graduated from KUOS. For military distinctions awarded the Order of the Red Banner (1945), Alexander Nevsky (1944), World War 2 nd degree (1944),. Red Star (1944), medals "Partisan of Patriotic War," 1-th degree (1943), "For the capture of Berlin", "For the liberation of Warsaw and three other medals.

April 16, 1945 the Soviet Army launched its assault on Berlin. As they approached the city of resistance increased.

April 24 troops of the 1 st Belorussian and 1-st Ukrainian Front closed the ring around frankfurteko-Guben enemy. Surrounded by many divisions were 9 and 4 Panzer Army.
