In LADIMIR A.. Vasilev, Lieutenant, Commander of 2 nd Company 342 Infantry Regiment 136 th Infantry Kievstkoy Red Banner Order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky Division. Born in 1925 in a. Kologrivovke Tatischevskogo district of Saratov region in a peasant family. Russian. Once in school, worked as a tractor on the farm.
In April 1943, was adopted by a military infantry school, after which, from September 1944 until the day of death, fought on 1 and 2 of the First Byelorussian Front. For military distinction was awarded the Order of the Red Banner (1945).

. With the success of the second company, the regiment forced the enemy to retreat and went to the area of the airfield. Here the Nazis had a strong resistance. For dispositions Regiment opened artillery fire ships anchored in the bay Gdalskoy. The offensive stalled. Only the company continued to operate Vasilyeva. The young officer did not keep their soldiers under fire and led them to storm the enemy entrenched in nearby homes. Rote managed to knock out the Nazis from the south-eastern outskirts of the village Lauental. Especially hot battle ensued for the four-story stone house, which lodged a large group of fascists. Soviet soldiers broke into the first floor of the building. The battle lasted for two hours. Creating the futility of further resistance, 30 Nazis, led to the officer laid down their arms.
On March 28 our troops reached the river Vistula dead-one of the many branches in the delta of the Vistula. In the mouth of the river, called е¦uе-awy, withdrew a large force of fascists in the hope to sit it out until the end of the war. The regiment received the task force the river and a foothold on its eastern shore.
On rafts and fishing boats company Vasilyeva rushed to the island of the hills in the middle of the river. Our artillery fire shifted in depth. The opponent was silent, but when the soldiers began landing on the island, alive enemy firing points. In a brief skirmish Vasiliev and his men destroyed the Nazis.
Hitting on the island of Holm, the company began to cross the eastern shore of the Dead Vistula River. During the crossing from mortar fire killed many enemy fighters, but 8 people, headed by Vasil reached the opposite shore and seized a small bridgehead. A handful of brave men fell, hundreds of shells and mines, enemy planes swooped down, caught the Germans counterattacked. In this unequal battle, six of our soldiers killed, two survived: Vasiliev and wounded gunner. They continued to fight.
Soon after breaking the enemy's shells had killed the machine gunner, wounded Vasiliev. At one point a brave officer lost consciousness. Taking advantage of the cease-fire, the Nazis went to his full height in attack. It seemed that everything is over. But Vasiliev came to. Bleeding, gathered his last strength, he crawled to the gun and opened fire on all sides were pressing the Germans.
To help the brave man hurry reinforcements. At a time when fresh troops had landed on a beachhead seized, breaking the enemy's mines Lt. Vasiliev was killed.
