In LADIMIR I. Klimov, Private, katerist 6-th single-motorized pontoon bridge battalion. Born April 4, 1922 in g. Rtischevo Saratov region. Russian. He graduated from the seven-year school, he worked on the railroad.

. In June 1941 he was drafted into the Red Army and to the victory over Germany in World War II fought on the South-West, Stalingrad, the Don, Voronezh, Steppe and 2 of the First Ukrainian Front
. He took part in defensive battles near Kiev, Kharkov, in the battles of Stalingrad and Kursk, the liberation of Ukraine, Poland, Hungary and Czechoslovakia. For military distinction awarded two medals "For Service in Battle" (1942, 1955), medals, 3a defense of Kiev, "" For the defense of Stalingrad "and two other medals.

. I. Klimov was demobilized from the Soviet Army. Reserve sergeant, lived and worked as a chauffeur in Mr.. Abay Kazakhstan. Died May 24, 1980.

In September 1943, to the Dnieper river crossings in the area of Kremenchug flooded German divisions, broken the Steppe Front of Poltava and Belgorod, Kharkov and Krasnograd
. At all costs the enemy tried to keep kremenchugeky springboard. Fighting to eliminate it threatened to take the protracted nature. However, the heroism of Soviet soldiers, their high military skill, the rapid onslaught of the foiled plans of the fascist command. Along with the advanced units, 37 Army south-east of Kremenchug went to the Dnieper-pontoon bridge battalion, which served Klimov. The battalion was ordered to ensure the crossing of artillery and tanks in the area Derievki.
In a short time collected pontoon ferries, piers arranged. The first ferry from the tank T-34 took his boat Klimov. Flight treated safely. It was September 28. During the next three weeks Klimov continuously shipped at a bridgehead across the Dnieper materiel 37-Army. Brave katerist not slept for 3-4 days in a row and exits only when the force finally left him. After a short rest Klimov returned to the system and under constant shelling and systematic attacks by enemy aircraft day and night continued their difficult and dangerous work.

. All were on the ferry fighters, gunners went ashore and took refuge in the trenches. Shrapnel shell was badly damaged pontoon, and the ferry with a large heel began to sink.

At this point, Klimov showed great courage and resourcefulness. Despite the heavy fire of the enemy, he took the ferry aground and thereby saved the military equipment from flooding. Before the end of raids Klimov maintained his ferry boat, while struggling with the water pouring into the vessel through the numerous holes in the left side.

. Thrice boat Klimova received injuries from splinters of shells and mines, as well as from enemy bullets
. Klimov did not lose self-control, every time afforded by the appointment of military equipment, and only then repaired the ship.

. For three weeks Klimov made at its launch more than 300 flights across the Dnieper and transferred to the bridgehead dozens of tanks, guns, cars, hundreds of tons of ammunition.
