M ephod Kozlitin Mikhailovich, the youngest commander, commander of the tank the 2 nd Battalion, 11 th Armored Brigade (1 st Army Group in the MPR). Born April 7, 1913 in a. Cheremoshnoye Medvenskogo Kursk region. Russian. After seven years of school he worked as a foreman on the farm field team. In 1933 - 1935 years lived in Kramatorsk, worked as a bookkeeper while studying at night rabfak. From 1935 to 1959 he served in the Soviet Army. In May - September 1939 in Khalkhin Gol took part in battles with the Japanese. From December 1939 until October 1941 he studied at the Military Academy of Armored. From October 1941 to September 1942 had fought in the 23 Tank Brigade, and 8-Panzer Corps on the western front, occupying the post of deputy commander of a battalion of heavy tanks and Assistant Chief of the Intelligence Corps. On the night of July 3 19E9, the major Japanese forces secretly crossed to the western shore Khalkhin-Gol and captured Mount Bain-Cagan, dominating the surrounding area. Once in the course of exploration tank Kozlitin penetrated deep into the enemy positions. Unexpectedly fired anti-tank guns of the Japanese. Near walking tank on fire. Kozlitin ordered the driver-mechanic Polygalova at full speed to attack the battery. Sam opened fire with a machine gun on the radiating Japanese gunners.

The battery was destroyed, but from the valley to the right was hit carefully concealed enemy guns. The tank caught fire Kozlitin. In the lower hatch of the crew left the car, taking a light machine gun with four bullets and grenades discs.

Within four days Kozlitin and his friends roamed the Japanese rear. During the day hiding in the river Haylastin-Gol, masking sedge, and at night made their way westward, destroying a small group of enemy encounters. Eat grass. Receiving the new tank BT-7, the crew Kozlitin participated in the August offensive, in which Soviet troops completed the destruction of 6-th of the Japanese Army. In this operation, the crew Kozlitin destroyed 2 tanks, 2 guns and several machine guns of the enemy.
