G AIGA Osipovich Komarov, Guard, Air Force Major General, commander of the 2-Guards Attack Air Chernigov-Rechytsa Red Banner Order of Suvorov Division. Born March 13, 1905 in d. Plattsovke Ekaterinovskaya district of Saratov region. Russian. Graduated 6 classes in schools with. Moving and courses of wireless telegraphy at Saratov Post Office. In the Soviet army was called in 1925 and served in it continuously for 34 years. Military education in Tver Cavalry School, at the Moscow course Armor troops in Borisoglebskaya Pilot School and the Military Academy named M.V. Frunze.

During the Great Patriotic War, fought in the South-West, Stalingrad, the Don, the Central and 1 st Belorussian fronts. For military decorations and other services to the Motherland was awarded three Orders of Lenin (1944, . 1951 - 2), . four orders: the Red Banner (1941, . 1942, . 1945 - 2), . . Komarov, graduated from the Higher Academic Courses of the Academy of General Staff and was on the research and teaching work. In 1953 he was awarded the State Prize.

In 1959 he was dismissed from the Soviet Army for health reasons. Lived in Mr.. Moscow. Died Sept. 20, 1973.

During the war, General Komarov showed himself fully trained and talented military commander. The division under his command was a glorious battle path, twice awarded the honorary title of liberated cities, was awarded two medals, given guard, seven times noted in the orders of the Supreme Command. Members of the division in 1944 made 6,500 sorties and displayed heroism. 13 airmen were awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union, more than 500 people were awarded orders and medals.

During the advance troops of the 1 st Belorussian Front in the winter 1945 pilots under the command of Komarova in difficult weather conditions have made 544 effective sorties to attack enemy troops and military equipment of the enemy in the areas of Warsaw, . Lodz, . Poznan, . Bydgoszcz, . Torun, ,
. Attack aircraft are always on time assisted by ground troops as they crossed the numerous water hazards and breakthrough milestones defense. Particularly effective were attacked by Hitler's storm troopers in the reserves in areas Sohacheva, Poznan and Schneidemuhl.

The biggest appreciation were fighting divisions in the Berlin operation. General Komarov well planned ground attack combat work. He himself during the operation was in the best observation post commander of the 9-Panzer Corps, and from there on the radio zeroing in ground-attack planes to destroy the most important enemy forces. For two weeks the division operation has produced 1,500 sorties to attack enemy troops on the outskirts of Berlin and in the city. Despite the great military power, the pilots just applied bombing assault strikes against designated targets.

. Military skill, high culture in the work, clarity of instructions, personal courage and sensitivity to subordinates, General Komarov earned the respect of all personnel of the division and senior officers.

. During the war George Osipovich personally made 22 sorties
. All of the most critical operations of large groups of storm troopers carried out with his participation.
