G AIGA Fyodorovich Platonov, Guard Captain, commander of the squadron of 62-th Guards Cavalry Regiment, 16 th Guards Cavalry Division, was born April 4, 1923 in g. Khvalynskoye Saratov region. Russian. Graduated from high school in 1941. Orenburg cavalry school in 1942 and the Higher Officer's Cavalry School in 1943.

From July 1942 until the victory over Germany in World War II fought in the West and the 1 st Belorussian fronts. Participated in the battles of Sychovka and Rzhev, the release of Belarus, Poland, defeating the enemy in Germany. Thrice wounded. For military distinction and impeccable service in the Soviet Army awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 2 nd degree (1943), Red Arrivals (1944), medals "For the capture of Berlin", "For the liberation of Warsaw," and five other medals.
