P rokopenko Fyodor - retired colonel. Born June 5, 1916 in the city Mariinsk Kemerovo. Russian. From 1927 he lived in the town of Taiga Irkutsk region. A Pioneer, instructor of Sport Shooting Activities. In 1933 he graduated from Tajginskij Aero Club, on a pilot-instructor. In 1936 he graduated from the Ulyanovsk school instructor pilot Osoaviahima. I was at work in the flying club instructor Cities Great Luke and Podolsk.

In the army since 1938. In 1940 he graduated from the Kachin Military Aviation Pilot School, on a pilot-instructor. In Defense of Sevastopol carried out 10 sorties.

In Private World War II from June 1942 in the 434-th (32 th Guards) Fighter Regiment. Participated in the defense of Stalingrad. From November 1942 БT  on the Kalinin Front. After being seriously wounded in 1943 flew the Po-2. Soon he was appointed the senior navigator 3rd Guards Fighter Aviation Division. Directed the aircraft to land, was putting them on purpose. Until the end of the war flying the Po-2, performing a variety of tasks on the transport of goods and people on the front. During the war, carried out 126 sorties, he personally shot down 16 enemy planes.
