Dikearh, Dikaiarchos, from Mass in Sicily, genus. up to 340 g. BC. e., Greek philosopher. Student of Aristotle and Theophrastus, Peripatetic. Long resided in the Peloponnese, has made scientific trips to other parts of Greece. Unusually prolific writer, scholar, author of works from the fields of geography, history, culture and literature, politics. The most important are: The Life of Greece (Bios Hellados) in 3 books, the history of Greek culture from the legendary Golden Age to the life of the author, and work on the geography of the Earth Description (Periodos ges), where D. among other things argued globosity Earth.
