PHILIP (Philippos)

Philip; Philippos, from Thessalonica, I in. n. e., Greek poet, epigrammatik. Worked in Rome. In our disposal there is roughly 80 of his epigrams, among them quite a few original, most written in imitation of Tarentum, Leonid. Approximately 40 g. AF, like Meleager Gadarskomu up a new anthology of epigrams, which also called Stefanos (Crown). It included an epigram poets who wrote after Meleager, presented in alphabetical order according to the names of the authors.
