Biography Nikolai Petrov, A.
Peter A. was born on October 24, 1924 in the village Ogarevo Saransk district, Penza province (later Mordovskaya ASSR) in a peasant family shepherd.

In 1949 he graduated from the Philological Faculty of Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, in 1952, post graduate courses in the department of History of Russian Literature. Since 1952 works at MSU. Since 1969, Professor, from 1977 to 1996. Head of the Department of Theory of Literature Faculty of Philology. From 1969 to 1980 worked as a senior fellow at the Institute of World Literature. п?.п?. Gorky USSR (concurrently).

In 1986-1988 served as the academician-secretary of the Department of Language and Literature and a member of the Presidium of the USSR. Since 1984 Corresponding Member of USSR Academy of Sciences (since 1992. Russia Academy of Sciences).

In MSU read lectures on general subjects: the history of Russian literature, the history of Russian literary criticism, the basis of aesthetics, an introduction to literary studies, conducted special seminars, supervised the preparation of graduate and postgraduate work. Among students 24 candidates and five doctors.

Over the past twenty years, served (in different years) scientific, literary and organizational social responsibility:

Chief Editor of "Philology" (1972).
President of the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature MAPRYAL (1986-1991).

Member of the Presidium of the Scientific and Technical Council of the USSR Ministry of Higher Education.
Member of the expert committee of the USSR Ministry of Higher Education.
Member of the Scientific Council of the Bureau of the Council of Ministers on Social Development.
Member of the Soviet Committee for Slavic.
Chairman of the Scientific Council of "The theory and methodology of literature and art history, USSR.

Chairman of the Commission on the history of philology USSR.
Chairman of the Committee on Relations with the USSR Academy of Sciences Graduate School of Philology at the Presidium of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
Chairman of the Council on the coordination of research activities of the Office of Literature and Language Academy of Sciences of the USSR.

Member of the Commission on Prize. A.S. Pushkin Academy of Sciences of the USSR.
