Biography KUPRIN Pavel
Born November 25, 1924, Mr.. in the Tula region. Member of the Great Patriotic War, was wounded twice. He graduated from the Geological Faculty of Moscow State University (1951).
Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (1955), Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (1992). Holder, Head of the Laboratory of Marine Geology, Geological Faculty (1967). Professor of the Department of Lithology and Marine Geology, Geological Faculty (1992).
Member MOIP, a member of the National Geographic Society (1979), a member of the International Oceanographic Society (1979). Member of the Scientific Council of the geological department of the geological department. Member of the Editorial Board of the International Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO on the International Bathymetric map and geological and geophysical maps of the Mediterranean and Black Seas.
. He was awarded with the Red Star (1944), World War 2 degree (1944), World War I degree (1985), medals for Labor Merit (1980), Veteran of Labor (1989) and others
. Awarded Excellence trademarks of socialist competition of the Ministry of Petroleum Industry (1955), Excellence in prospecting for mineral resources (1969).
. Research interests: many years of dedicated study of the geological structure of oil and gas fields and evaluate hydrocarbon potential of some areas of southern USSR
. He participated in the work that led to the discovery of several oil and gas fields in Dagestan and in the South Mangyshlak. For many years he was scientific director of integrated geological, geophysical and geochemical work on the structural and tectonic, . paleographic and oil and gas research in the Western part of Central Asia and Kazakhstan, . East Predkavkaz'ya, . Caspian, . Black and Mediterranean Seas,
. PhD dissertation is devoted to geology and oil and gas coastal area and some parts of the Middle Caspian Sea shelf in southern Dagestan. Much attention is paid to studying the geology of the Caspian Sea, Transcaspian, eastern regions of Central Asia and adjacent regions of Kazakhstan. At the same time conducted research on various aspects of the geology of basins inland seas, the problem of sedimentation and geochemistry of organic matter in sediments of the Black and Mediterranean Seas and parts of the world's oceans. The emphasis was placed on two major issues - the definition of the initial stage of oil generation and disclosure of conditions of realization of oil source potential of sedimentary formations of young platforms. The theoretical basis of the work served as a representation of the synchronous flow transformation processes in the early stages of diagenesis and katagenesis sediments and rocks - on the one hand, and concluded they dispersed organic matter - on the other. The result was a doctoral dissertation on the modalities of implementation of oil source potential in the sedimentary formations of young platforms. Topic of Ph.D. thesis: Eastern anticlinal zone of Southern Dagestan (geology and oil and gas).
Reads 3 special courses prepared a comprehensive training program for the maritime practice of students and participates in its implementation. The organization of the Department of Lithology and Marine Geology (1983) took part in the creation of the curriculum specialization lithology, has developed a training plan for a new specialization - marine geology.
