Tikhomirov Vladimir Grigorievich

Born October 4, 1924, Mr.. G. Vyatka. Member of the Great Patriotic War. He graduated from the Geological Faculty of Moscow State University (1951).

Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (1954), Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (1975). Professor of Historical and Regional Geology, Geological Faculty (1981).

. Research interests: the study of regional geology, tectonics and magmatism in Central Kazakhstan
. Much attention is given to consideration of orogenic volcanism, the ratio of volcanism and granitoid magmatism, developing methods for geological mapping of magmatic formations. On this basis, involving extensive material in different regions syntheses, . concerning the characteristics of the primary structure and forms of occurrence of magmatic rocks of the ultramafic massifs, . main, . intermediate and silicic, . and - structural shapes expected cosmogenic origin - astroblems, . methods for their identification and separation from the structures of endogenous origin,
. They described the most common and well-studied structural forms of volcanic and plutonic rocks, considered information on the mechanism and conditions of their formation, resulting from structural, historical and geological analysis. Topic of Ph.D. thesis: The geological structure and geological history of Paleozoic Sarisu-Tenizskogo raising. Central Kazakhstan. Subject doctoral dissertation: Paleozoic magmatism and tectonics of central Kazakhstan.
